The goal of Missile Training is to enhance a person’s overall ability in the area of movement. Missile Training protocols target three main areas of functional movement:
- Force Absorption – the ability to take a blow and not break down because the muscular skeletal system is functioning with minimal weakness
- Force Production – the muscular skeletal system’s ability to apply force to an object or person
- Force Application – no matter the plane of movement, a person is able to perform maximally at his or her best
The Impulse protocols fall into the Force Application category. Teaching a person how to activate and release a muscle movement gives the person a smoother, more fluid understanding of how to apply force in multiple planes. Impulse protocols train the neurologic system to efficiently control acceleration and deceleration from the core and can create results for participants in any sport.
